Skin Health: Inside Out and Outside In

Skin Health: Inside Out and Outside In

Our skin is a good reflection of our age and also our lifestyle choices. As we age, it is important to be diligent about treating your skin from the inside out and outside in. If you want to keep your skin healthy and radiant or get more of that beautiful glow, here are some tips for achieving it.

Inner Nourishment...

  • Hydration is Key: Our skin craves water, so aim for eight glasses daily. Consider incorporating fruits and vegetables with high water content like cucumbers and celery.
  • Fuel Your Body Right: A balanced diet rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants is essential. Fruits, vegetables, healthy fats and lean proteins are key for provide the building blocks for healthy skin.
  • Supplementation: Inspire Wellness Collagen Peptides are key to providing the essential amino acids that can aid in skin elasticity, volume and moisture. We start to deplete our collagen starting at age 30. Supplement with 20g per day for ideal benefits.
  • Quality Sleep is Essential: Aim for 7-8 hours of sleep each night. During sleep, your skin repairs and renews itself.

Outer Nourishment...

  • Cleanse Gently: Wash your face twice daily with lukewarm water and a gentle cleanser. Avoid harsh scrubs that can strip your skin of its natural oils.
  • Moisturize: As we age, our skin produces less oil. Combat dryness with a moisturizer suited to your skin type. Or simply coconut oil. My favorite is using Evolve vitamin C booster which is also super moisturizing & has many added benefits!
  • Sun Protection: Sun exposure is the leading cause of premature aging. Daily use of a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30. My favorite everyday one is Unseen Super Goop (and its FSA HSA approved).
  • Red Light Therapy & At-Home Laser: both can help reduce fine lines, wrinkles, skin texture and even out skin tone.

Taking care of your skin as you age is an investment in your overall well-being. By combining healthy habits with a consistent skincare routine, you can promote healthy, radiant skin that reflects your inner confidence and embraces the beauty of every stage of life. Remember, a little self-care goes a long way.
