What is a superfood?
Superfoods are nutrient-packed foods filed with vitamins and antioxidants to help your body fight off inflammation & diseases, keep your immune system strong, feel more energized and perform better.
Think of all the colorful fruits and veggies and they are a superfood!
Red= red peppers, strawberries, raspberries, apples, tomatoes, beets
Orange = carrots, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, mangos
Yellow = bananas, spaghetti squash,
Green = kale, spinach, leafy greens, broccoli, avocado, brussels sprouts
Blue/Purple = blueberries, açaí berries, blackberries, purple cabbage
White = cauliflower, cabbage
Some of my favorite superfoods beyond fruits & veggies include pasture-raised eggs, wild or responsibly raised salmon, beans, raw cacao powder/nibs and nuts/seeds. This week, try to add one superfood to every meal/snack and see how you feel.
