You've heard it before but breakfast is truly the most important meal of the day! The way you start your day, will help determine how well you eat the rest of the day, how well you will feel and how well your body/brain will perform.
Here are the reasons to eat breakfast!
Supports weight management: Studies have shown that people who eat breakfast tend to weigh less than those who skip it. This is likely because breakfast helps control hunger and prevent overeating later in the day.
Have you noticed if you start off wrong, it just goes downhill from there. But, if you start off with a balanced and high protein breakfast, it kicks the cravings and reduces the chances overeating later in the day.
Beyond, weight management, there are other benefits of eating breakfast.
Breaks the overnight fast: While you sleep, your body continues to use energy, depleting your blood sugar (glucose) stores. Breakfast replenishes these stores, providing your body and brain with the fuel they need to function properly.
Boosts energy and alertness: Eating breakfast helps improve concentration, memory, and cognitive function. It also helps regulate mood and prevent fatigue throughout the morning.
Provides essential nutrients: A healthy breakfast is a good source of essential nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, fiber, and protein. These nutrients are important for overall health and well-being.
Improves academic performance: Children who eat breakfast tend to perform better in school. They have better concentration, memory, and problem-solving skills.
Reduces the risk of chronic diseases: Eating breakfast regularly has been linked to a lower risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and obesity.
Some of my favorite high protein, nutrient-dense breakfast options:
#1 Smoothies! No better meal packed with protein, healthy fat, veggie, fruit and fiber!!
#2 Eggs + Veggies + Avocado (can add in a healthy carb like high fiber piece of bread)
#3 Yogurt Parfait with berries and ground flaxseed
#4 Oatmeal or Overnight Oats (with added collagen for protein and berries)
